Is it really free?
Yes. RorMail has no plans, trials or paid features — everything is available to everyone from the first minute.
Who can read my mail?
The connection to the server is encrypted, messages are not analysed for advertising and are not passed to third parties.
That said, email is not a secure channel by design: a message sent to another server falls under its rules. For genuinely secret things email is a poor choice, whatever the provider.
How much space is there?
200 MB and up to 100 messages. Once there are more, the oldest ones are deleted automatically — keep copies of anything important.
How do I set up mail on a phone or in an app?
Over IMAP: server mail.rormail.com, port 993, SSL/TLS encryption, username — the full mailbox address. Outgoing mail uses the same server, port 587 or 465.
If the app asks «POP3 or IMAP», take IMAP: messages stay on the server and show up on every device. Full setup guide.
How do I spot a forged message?
The server checks the signature of every incoming message and marks those that fail. A sender can forge the name in the «From» field, but not the domain signature.
Simple rule: a message that rushes you to pay, follow a link or reveal a password is worth double-checking another way.
Can I send messages?
The web client cannot write messages yet — that is in the works. From a mail app, messages go out over SMTP within rormail.com and rormail.org.
Sending to outside addresses is currently restricted by our hosting provider. We are working on it; receiving mail from anywhere works fully.
